Botox Cologne: Eeffective wrinkle treatment at the PALMKLINIK
From as early as your mid-20s, the natural aging process of the skin, external influences, and facial expressions cause the first small wrinkles to form on the face. The skin’s ability to regenerate and its elasticity slowly decline, crow’s feet become visible when you smile, and fine lines appear on the forehead. This should not cause you any concern, as aging is a natural part of life. However, if you are dissatisfied with your appearance and have a strong desire for a more youthful look, we can help you with effective wrinkle treatment.
In aesthetic medicine, treatment with botulinum toxin, commonly known as Botox®, has proven effective. Botox® can be used to treat expression lines in a targeted and effective manner.

What is Botox®?
Botox® is the brand name of a prescription drug that is used in both aesthetic and general medicine for numerous indications. Botulinum is a protein derived from a bacterium. Botulinum is a neurotoxin, which is why it may only be administered in small quantities. The correct name for it is botulinum toxin A. Botulinum can be used to treat conditions such as migraines, neurological disorders, and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).
In aesthetic medicine, botulinum toxin is mainly used in a highly diluted form to reduce wrinkles. As it is a prescription-only medication, only licensed physicians are permitted to administer Botox® injections.
How does Botox® work to reduce wrinkles?
Botox® is successfully used in aesthetic medicine because of its skin-tightening effect. A botulinum injection has a strong muscle-relaxing effect, as it blocks the neurotransmitters necessary for muscle contraction. The lack of muscle movement means that wrinkles cannot be activated. This smooths expression lines very effectively.
Where is Botox® used to reduce wrinkles?
Due to its mode of action, botulinum injections are particularly useful on the face, as this is where frequent muscle movements occur as a result of our facial expressions. When we laugh, for example, different muscles in the face are activated, causing small wrinkles to form in many places. This is why Botox® is very often used to treat wrinkles on the forehead or around the eyes. In addition to the face, other areas of the body can also be effectively treated with Botox®.
We use botulinum toxin for the following types of wrinkles:
- Crow’s feet and other eye wrinkles
- Frown lines
- Forehead wrinkles
- Mouth and lip wrinkles
- Chin wrinkles
- Nose wrinkles
- Wrinkles on the décolleté and neck
Treatment with hyaluronic acid has also proven effective in smoothing the skin gently and effectively.
Botox® for excessive sweating
Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) causes very heavy perspiration, particularly under the armpits. Botox® injections into the sweat glands can provide relief. Find out more about hyperhidrosis treatment at the PALMKLINIK.
Botox® treatment – Procedure at the PALMKLINIK
During an individual consultation, we first clarify all important questions regarding Botox® treatment and determine the treatment goal and the areas of skin to be treated. Our experienced specialists will determine whether botulinum injections are even an option for achieving the best possible results. If not, we will be happy to advise you on other wrinkle treatments available at the PALMKLINIK, such as hyaluronic acid or CO2 laser treatments.
The treatment is performed using the latest and safest methods by a specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery at the PALMKLINIK. To make the procedure as comfortable as possible for you, we ensure a calm and relaxed atmosphere. The relevant areas of skin are disinfected and, if desired, rubbed with an anesthetic ointment. After a short application time, a very small amount of botulinum toxin is injected into the skin in several deposits using a fine cannula. We only use high-quality and tested active ingredients. The entire Botox® treatment takes about 30 minutes.
Botox® treatment – Aftercare
After treatment, you can resume your normal daily activities immediately, although you should avoid strenuous exercise at first. Downtime is not usually expected. However, swelling and redness may occur immediately after the botulinum injection, and the skin may tingle or itch slightly. If these reactions persist, please contact us. For the best possible results, please follow these aftercare recommendations:
- Apply light cooling compresses
- Do not touch puncture sites with your hands
- Upright position for 4 hours for optimal distribution
- Do not use makeup for 1 day
- Refrain from intense exercise for 1-3 days
- No cosmetic treatments or massages in the injection area for 2 weeks
- Avoid sunbathing, saunas, and solariums for at least 2 weeks; use high UV protection
- Initial abstinence from alcohol and nicotine
- Follow-up appointment if necessary
Results after Botox® treatment
Thanks to the muscle-relaxing effect of botulinum injections, a noticeable yet natural result can be achieved after just a few days. You can expect the following results:
- Significant reduction in expression lines
- More youthful appearance
- Firmer and more elastic skin
- Fresh and alert facial expression
Frequently asked questions about Botox® treatment
You probably have many questions about Botox® treatment in Cologne. To help you make your decision, we have answered the most frequently asked questions below. However, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. Feel free to arrange a non-binding consultation appointment at the PALMKLINIK.
How much does Botox® treatment cost?
The costs are calculated individually and depend on the desired result, the skin areas to be treated, and the amount of botulinum toxin injected. The cost of a botulinum injection at the PALMKLINIK starts at €300 for 24 international units (IU).
We charge a fee of €80 for the consultation. If treatment is provided immediately, the consultation fee is reduced to €40.
When do the results of a Botox® treatment become visible?
The botulinum must first spread throughout the body and only takes effect after approximately 5-8 days. The full effect is achieved after about 14 days.
How long does Botox® remain effective?
The effects of Botox® are not permanent. Depending on the patient, the treatment lasts for around 3-6 months. With regular Botox® treatment, the duration of the effects can be extended as the muscle contractions become weaker.
Is Botox® treatment painful?
The treatment is painless, as it is performed using a very fine needle. An anesthetic cream can also be used if necessary. There is no pain after the treatment, but you may experience a slight tingling or itching sensation.
When can Botox® treatment be repeated?
Botulinum can be re-injected when its effect wears off, i.e. after about 3-6 months. Three to four treatments per year are possible after consultation with the treating physician.
Is Botox® dangerous?
Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin and can cause serious damage if used improperly. It is available only on prescription and may only be administered by doctors.
During Botox® treatment at the PALMKLINIK, only minimal amounts are injected into the skin tissue by trained specialists. There, it is bound and cannot enter the body. The treatment is therefore safe and poses no health risk.
