Botox Cologne: effective Wrinkle Treatment at the PALMKLINIK
The natural ageing process of the skin, external influences and facial expressions cause the first small wrinkles to appear on the face as early as the mid-20s. The ability to regenerate and elasticity slowly decrease, crow’s feet become visible when smiling and fine lines appear on the forehead. This should not worry you, because ageing is part of life. However, if you are unhappy with your appearance and have a strong desire for a more youthful appearance, we can help you with effective wrinkle treatment.
Injection with botulinum toxin, also known colloquially as Botox®, has proven itself in aesthetic medicine. Botox® can be used to treat expression lines in a targeted and effective manner.

What is Botox®?
Botox® is the brand name of a prescription drug that is used in numerous indications in both aesthetic and general medicine. Botulinum is a protein derived from a bacterium. Botulinum is a neurotoxin, which is why it may only be administered in small quantities. The correct name for this is botulinum toxin A. Botulinum can be used to treat migraines, neurological disorders or hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), for example.
In aesthetic medicine, botulinum toxin is mainly used in a very diluted form to reduce wrinkles. As it is a prescription-only medication, only licensed doctors are allowed to inject Botox®.
How does Botox® work to reduce Wrinkles?
Botox® is used successfully in aesthetic medicine due to its skin-tightening effect. A botulinum injection has a strong muscle-relaxing effect, as it blocks the messenger substances that are necessary for muscle contraction. The lack of muscle movement means that wrinkles cannot be activated. As a result, expression lines are smoothed very effectively.
Where does Botox® work to reduce Wrinkles?
Due to its mode of action, Botox® injections are particularly useful on the face, where our facial expressions cause frequent muscle movements. When we laugh, for example, different muscles in the face are activated, causing small wrinkles to appear in many places. This is why wrinkle treatment with Botox® is very frequently carried out on the forehead or eyes. In addition to the face, other areas of the body can also be effectively treated with Botox®.
We use botulinum for the following types of wrinkles:
- Crow’s feet and other eye wrinkles
- Frown lines
- Forehead wrinkles
- Mouth and lip wrinkles
- Chin wrinkles
- Nose wrinkles
- Wrinkles on the décolleté and neck
Treatment with hyaluronic acid has also proven to be an effective and gentle way of smoothing the skin.
Botox® for excessive sweating
Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) leads to very heavy perspiration, particularly under the armpits. Botox® injections into the sweat glands can help here. Find out more about hyperhidrosis treatment at the PALMKLINIK.
Botox® Treatment – Procedure at the PALMKLINIK
In an individual consultation, we first clarify all the important questions about Botox® treatment and determine the treatment goal and the areas of skin to be treated. Our experienced specialists will determine whether botulinum injections are at all suitable for achieving the best possible result. Otherwise, we will be happy to advise you on other wrinkle treatments, for example with hyaluronic acid or the CO2 laser, at the PALMKLINIK.
The treatment is carried out using the most modern and safest methods by a specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery at the PALMKLINIK. To make the procedure as pleasant as possible for you, we ensure a calm and relaxed atmosphere. The affected areas of skin are disinfected and, if desired, an anaesthetic ointment is applied. After a short application time, a very small amount of botulinum toxin is injected into the skin in several deposits using a fine cannula. We only use high-quality and tested active ingredients. The entire Botox® treatment takes about 30 minutes.
Botox® Treatment – Aftercare
After the treatment, you can go straight back to your light everyday tasks, although you should initially avoid intensive exertion. You should not normally expect any downtime. Immediately after the botulinum injection, however, swelling and redness may occur and the skin may tingle or itch slightly. If these reactions persist, please contact us. For the best possible result, please note the following aftercare recommendations:
- Apply light cooling compresses
- Do not touch the puncture sites with your hands
- Upright position for 4 hours, for optimal distribution
- Do not use make-up for 1 day
- Refrain from intensive sport for 1 – 3 days
- No cosmetic treatments and massages in the injection area for 2 weeks
- Avoid sunbathing, sauna and solarium for at least 2 weeks, use high UV protection
- Initially avoid alcohol and nicotine
- Follow-up appointment if required
Results after a Botox® Treatment
Thanks to the muscle-relaxing effect of botulinum injections, a clear but natural result can be achieved after a few days. You can expect these results:
- Significant reduction in expression lines
- More youthful appearance
- Tighter and more elastic skin
- Fresh and awake facial expression
Frequently asked Questions about Botox® Treatment
You probably have many questions about Botox® treatment in Cologne. To make your decision easier, we answer the most common ones below. However, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. You are welcome to arrange a non-binding consultation at the PALMKLINIK.
How much does Botox® treatment cost?
The costs are calculated individually and depend on the desired result, the areas of skin to be treated and the amount of botulinum toxin injected. The cost of a botulinum injection at the PALMKLINIK starts from €300.00 for 24 international units (IU).
We charge a fee of €80.00 for the consultation; the consultation fee is reduced to €40.00 for immediate treatment.
When do the results of a Botox® treatment become visible?
The botulinum must first be distributed in the body and only develops its effect after about 5-8 days. The full effect sets in after around 14 days.
How long does Botox® remain effective?
The effect of Botox® is not permanent. Depending on the patient, the treatment lasts for around 3-6 months. With regular Botox® treatment, the duration of effect can be extended as the muscle contractions become weaker.
Is Botox® treatment painful?
The treatment is not associated with any pain as it is carried out using a very fine cannula. If necessary, an anesthetic ointment can also be used. No pain is to be expected after the treatment, but there may be a slight tingling or itching effect.
When can Botox® treatment be repeated?
Botulinum can be re-injected after the effect has worn off, i.e. after about 3-6 months. 3-4 treatments per year are possible after consultation with the attending physician.
Is Botox® dangerous?
Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin and can cause serious damage if used incorrectly. It is only available on prescription and may only be used by physicians.
During a Botox® treatment at the PALMKLINIK, only very small amounts are injected into the skin tissue by trained specialists. It is bound there and cannot enter the body. The treatment is therefore safe and poses no health risk.
In what cases is Botox® treatment not possible?
- During pregnancy and breastfeeding
- In case of neurological diseases
- In case of muscle diseases
- While taking certain medications (clarify with your doctor)
