Upper Arm Lift in Cologne: Arm Tuck for well-shaped Arms
One of the functions of our skin is its elasticity. This elasticity is important because it allows the skin to adapt to changes in the body. When there is a major change in body volume, the skin has to adapt particularly quickly. If it fails to do so, it becomes overstretched. Sagging upper arms can occur in particular when the skin’s elasticity decreases, for example due to ageing, or if you have lost weight.
Women with weak connective tissue in particular often have so-called “angular arms”. Many people feel uncomfortable with extra skin hanging under their arms and therefore no longer wear short tops and T-shirts. An upper arm lift allows you to show off your beautiful, firm upper arms again with confidence.
At the PALMKLINIK in Cologne, we can help you feel better about your body again with an upper arm lifting. You can find initial information about arm tuck on this page. You will receive detailed and personal advice in a non-binding consultation.

Upper Arm Lift – is the Procedure possible for your?
An upper arm lift is suitable for people with upper arms that tend to have excess and sagging skin. If the upper arms are not firm enough, there is usually also increased wrinkling. In these cases, a tightening of the upper arms can achieve very good results.
In principle, the following conditions should always be met for a procedure such as an upper arm tuck:
- You do not have any debilitating illnesses that increase the risk of surgery or hinder healing.
- You have a positive attitude towards the procedure and a realistic expectation of results.
Upper Arm Lift – Treatment Procedure
First, we discuss the anesthetic method. You will either be given local anesthesia or anesthesia. Depending on how much excess skin you have and how much of it needs to be removed, we will decide where incisions should be made and how long they should be. These can be made on the inside or outside of the upper arm. If necessary, the upper arm lift is performed together with liposuction. Afterwards, the supporting tissue under the skin is tightened and fixed with sutures so that the skin is smoothly tightened. The skin incisions are closed with absorbable stitches. These dissolve by themselves over time. The suture is also secured with skin glue for support. The tightening procedure usually takes 1.5 to 3 hours.

Healing and Results after an Arm Tuck
After the operation, patients slowly come to and wake up. They are monitored and given painkillers so that they hardly feel any pain. The patients are given compresses and drainage tubes are placed. As soon as the drainage tubes have been removed, patients are given a compression girdle in the form of a bolero, which is customized by the medical supply store and should be worn for 6 weeks. You should also take it easy and rest your arms in particular. The suture material can be removed after three weeks.
It is important to note that the quieter and undisturbed the upper arms heal in the initial phase after the operation, the better the long-term result will be.
Risks of an Upper Arm Lift
As the upper arm is a part of the body that is constantly in motion, it takes a little longer to heal than other parts of the body. Common risks are bruising and swelling, as well as painful or tense feelings after the operation. However, these symptoms usually disappear quickly. If the arm is strained or moved too much too soon, this can lead to wound healing disorders and noticeable scars. In most cases, an upper arm lift is performed without any prolonged restrictions.
However, the following risks can occur in rare cases:
- Prolonged pain after the procedure
- Numbness in the arm
- Destruction of lymph nodes or vessels and thus swollen arms
